"Frida Venada" by Original Veronica Perez
Hi! This is one of my latest versions of Frida, I'm inspired in her painting called:"The deer", where she painted her face in a wounded deer body.
This sculpture is available in the Frida Kahlo Museum, in Coyoacan, Mexico City.

My "Fridas" at Frida Kahlo Museum! (Frida at her kitchen)
My "Fridas" are back at the Frida Kahlo's Museum,, with my trade mark: Original Verónica Pérez. If you're travelingo to Mexico City. You must not miss the oportunity to visit this amazing place. Frida Kahlo's blue house, at Coyoacan, in Mexico City.
In this picture, you may find, her kitchen, decorated in one wall with very tiny "Cazuelas"(cooking pot made of clay) you may see the leyend "Frida" and in the other side "Diego". Where she used to cook her "Mole"(Mexican sauce with chocolate, and chilli pepper among many ingredients).
Even though in Frida's time there were available gas stove, she likes to cook with firewood, as in old times Haciendas in Mexico.

Inspired by Ballet and ballerinas...
Latelly I've been inpsired by "ballet" my sister is guilty for that, since children she always love it, and for that reason, we took some "ballet" classes, soon I discovered that as a "ballet dancer", I'm a very good painter ;)
I've also have the opportunity to assist to some great ballet performances, like the "Swank lake ballet" at the Isle of Chapultepec, in Mexico City. A beautifull performance, because the place.. is a natural, open place, when you have a natural stage, the great costumes, the light, but most of all the music, and the dancers, almost magical!! Another great performance, is held at "El Auditorio Nacional "The nutcracker ballet", was just awesome. Definitely love the costumes!
It also inspired me, the see my beautifull two little nieces on stage, dancing ballet, they were so cute!! love you my little ones!
That and my recently love for the impressionist, and specially for Edgar Degas "ballerinas"... inspired me to create my own versions of my "Ballerinas series", inspired in this magical world of ballet.
I'm glad to share with you some of my ballerinas. Hope you like it!

"Xochimilco, México"
This is a pic of a trajinera, a traditional "boat" in Xochimilco, in Mexico City.
It's been said that in the time of the aztecs, there were a lot of channels, and trajineras were invented by that time, to carry food, or transport people, among many things.
Now a days, you can see still these "trajineras", but the purpose is to have a nice tour to the Xochimilco channels, and enjoy with family and friends, while eating a good meal. You can also see a lot of trajineras with music, of many kinds, from mariachi, to other variaties of Mexican folk music.
The best day to visit Xochimilco is on Sundays and Saturdays. And also in November, in one of the isles of Xochimilco, you may see a play or performance of the "Llorona", and old Mexican Leyend.
