My paper jewelry @ kichink (original veronica perez)
Hi! I'm very happy to be in kichink again! Here you'll find some of my new paper jewerly, all handpainted, inspired in Mexican culture. For example this earings, are inspired in one of Frida Kahlo's dress, a "Huipil Mazateco". I’m in love and proud of Mexican handcrafts, and the Huipil Mazateco, is an example of it. (The huipil: is a blouse or dress, with embroidery, oftenly wear by the indigenous people of Mexico).
It has very tiny details in the flowers.. but I love to paint small things ;) hope you like it!

Original Verónica Pérez en el Museo Frida Kahlo
My "Fridas" are inspired in the famous Mexican paintor. I specially love the photo taken by Nickolas Murray, perhaps, one of Frida's most famous photography in color, where she's wearing a black dress, and have pink roses on her hair.. that's my "Frida" on the pic.
In the back you can apreciate Frida's atelier and bedroom, at her house, La Casa Azul, now her Museum.

I´m glad to say that my "Fridas" are back at the Frida Kahlo Museum, located in Londres 247, Col. Del Carmen, in Coyoacan, in Mexico City. You'll finde them with my trademark "Original Veronica Perez".
This pic, is of her beautifull garden. Recently New York botanical garden, made an tribute, to Frida, and made a very similar reproduction of her garden, in the "Casa Azul". "La Casa Azul" (The blue house) is the other name, that Frida's Museum is known, because of the color of the house.
I love her clothes, she used so many colorfull dresses, in this case, she's wearing a "Huipil mazateco"(Huipil is a traditional dresses of central Mexico).
If you're Frida Kahlo's fan you must not miss this awesome place, where she was born and live all here life!

Another machine challenge !!
As Posted before, every new order, is a new challenge for me...I'm working again, in one big challenge.. a Yamaha motorcycle! a customized order.
For me is very difficult to realize non organical figures. But as I've made in my course for children, one of my little students ask me for a motorcycle, I've certain idea of where to begin. That make the work more "easy". I started with the sketch of the machine, to dimension in my head, the main figure, and how would I develop it in a sculpture, that would not weight too much. The easiest would be to make a plasticine sculpture, but the weight would be too much, and in the other hand the durability of the piece, both were problems, then have to be resolve them, by making a sculpture with paper and cardboard.
I'm still developing the volume.. so I can't sing Victory yet... I have to cut and paste, so many times now.. but I think I'm resolving it. So far, so good, let's see what happens :)
