Each project a challenge by Original Verónica Pérez

As a freelancer and owner of my own brand, (I'm my own company, design, creates, sells, collect, administrates, etc.) I've the freedom of create my own subjects. Most of them inspired Mexican Culture, but also in culture in general, history, arts, movies, music, fashion..among many themes I can develop, and I love, and also that I'm always studying, learning and getting inspired of. But some time I've also request pieces from some of my clients, for doing some customized projects. I've to confess, at first it's a little hard,to quit some of the many ideas I want to develop, have to wait... but then, I'm encourage by the exciment of a challenge! The first challenge, to "catch the idea". It's indispensable to write, and some times to draw the skecth of the idea, to see, if it's what your customer wants. It happens to me, that I've the wrong idea of the fish, who was the pet of my cousin, she wants a certain type of fish, and even though I've checked some images in the web, her fish has more larger flippers! I have almost finished the piece, and have to correct the piece, it was difficult, but finally she was happy with the result. It finally was here pet! Second challenge. Have the enough information, photographs, sizes, color. Other request, was Motorcycle chess board. I've never in my life, haver ever made any kind of machines, the challenge of doing a Dukati and a BMW.. in 3cms size was... one of the most difficult things I've ever done. For me developing organic themes, is easier than making machines... but I've to prove myself that I can do it. It was by seeing the similarity with the animals with the design of the motorcycles, that I did it, and having a lot of photos make me the work easier. Thank God, for the internet... now we can have a lot of good images. Third challenge. With communication with your client. To avoid what happened with the fish. I tried to have feed back of my client, and also like to take photos of the developing process, so if you have to modify something, doing it in the first steps of the process.. not at the end. The reward.. the most challenge moment is the meeting with your customer, to see if your work fit their expectation. That moment, when you just hold your breath... take out the piece, and look into their face... waiting for a gesture... then, She or he, make a smile :) you're mission is acomplish, you can breath again!!
